Located in the heart of Gowanus, Brooklyn, our studio is more than just a rehearsal space, it is a vibrant creative hub committed to making dance accessible, affordable, and inclusive. Home to the acclaimed dance theater company The Creature, the studio serves as a place where professional artists and young dancers alike come to explore movement, expression, and community.

Our space is designed to support both artistic innovation and accessibility. By offering low-cost rehearsal space and affordable classes, we are actively removing financial barriers that often prevent artists and families from engaging in dance. We believe that creativity should not be a luxury, and our studio reflects that belief.

In addition to hosting the company’s interdisciplinary rehearsals and performances, the studio is home to The Ephyras, our youth dance theater program. This program provides high-quality training rooted in curiosity and personal agency, inviting dancers of all ages and backgrounds to grow artistically in a nurturing, judgment-free environment.

The studio acts as an incubator for new work, a gathering place for creative exchange, and a welcoming space where movement and imagination are celebrated. We do so through opportunities like Common Space, providing emergent New York City choreographers an intimate and professional setting to present their work. It is a cornerstone for building community through the arts, where young dancers take their first creative steps and professional artists continue to evolve.

With this space, we are not only creating innovative performance work, we are creating access, opportunity, and artistic growth for all.
